Designing for us is a way of life! We love it! We are constantly inspired by the world around us, the ordinary and the extraordinary, the beauty found in nature, art and architecture.
A passion for Landscape Design brought us together. As Mondo Landscapes has grown so too has our bond and friendship. Landscape design means creating outdoor rooms that offer beauty, simplicity and quality. We pride ourselves on designs that appear effortless and modern with lasting integrity. By combining beautiful products and a well considered palette of plants we create gorgeous spaces and resort-style landscapes which epitomize everyday luxury. Our love of plants, gardens and an outdoor lifestyle is evident in the way we design, bringing the outdoor space to life.
Our studio reflects our personalities, our approach was to create an office environment that feels more home than work, a relaxed place to welcome clients and one the team can feel inspired by.
Design and Travel – Two of our favourite words. We have a deep love affair with travel and adventure, colourful destinations and the exotic locations. Between us, we have been on Safari in Africa; hot air ballooned over the Serengeti; sailed down the Nile; experienced snowmobiling in Iceland and white water rafted in various locations around the world. Of course, a cocktail or two whilst watching the sunset is mandatory wherever we are!
These threads are not the only thing we have in common. Our homes reflect the way we live, with a strong focus on family, friends and entertaining, with an emphasis on casual living. We are each surrounded by an eclectic mix of treasures sourced locally and abroad that tell our story.
Our mantra – don’t ever stop loving life!
Mondo Landscapes is an energetic, boutique design studio specialising in enhancing outdoor living through innovative design. With an extensive portfolio and over 18 years of experience as horticulturists, stylists and landscape designers, Mondo Landscapes strives to provide outdoor spaces to be enjoyed, admired and lived in. As the line between inside and out continues to blur, Mondo revels in creating custom designed spaces that reflect the personality of our clients.
We have a real passion for creating lifestyle-centered design, with beautiful gardens and entertaining spaces a key component of our work.
Offering a personal service is very important to us. Each client and project is unique, specific to the site, environment, and architecture of the building. Designing with purpose and meaning is imperative, providing the best design solution for the space available. There is no such thing as one design fits all. Our skills mean every project is completed with absolute attention to detail; specifying plant selection, palette, colour, product and material to be incorporated.
Established in 1999 working locally, interstate and overseas our portfolio reflects a wide range of styles and designs. We specialise in creating functional gardens, pool designs, al fresco living and resort-style gardens; whether it be renovations for existing pool and gardens, or new homes with big picture thinking. Mondo Landscapes has won many awards in the Landscape Design area. As you take the time to browse through our portfolio you will come across a number of these.
We find collaborative projects very rewarding too and can often be found working closely with Architects, Interior Designers, Landscape Construction Companies, Pool Companies and Builders to achieve outstanding results. Mondo values the relationships we build with our clients and people in the many industries we come into contact with.

DEBBIE TAYLOR
Debbie’s story is both diverse and interesting, having lived in numerous outback and tropical locations. Whilst in Darwin she survived Cyclone Tracey in a caravan. As an expat, Debbie lived in Papua New Guinea for 10 years with her young family, spending time in the Lae delta and the highlands of Goroka. Debbie embraced the lifestyle and cultural diversity, including the sounds and colours of Sing-Sings, tribal warfare, playing international softball and great friendships formed the fabric of this time.
Debbie’s love of adventure and travel sees her wandering the globe; plunging into deep waters in shark cages; going on safari in Africa; hot air ballooning over the Masai Mara; skimming across glaciers in Iceland on snowmobiles and sailing the seven seas. An avid photographer, her images are now being seen and shared around the world.
Putting down roots in Perth; Debbie and her husband realized it was time their family needed a garden and room for parties and friends to stay. And create a fabulous home with lots of decking and a garden for partying they did! Coloured foliage, layers, textures, frangipanies and formal hedges, influenced by their tropical adventures.
Downsizing from a really large garden Debbies’ courtyard has become the perfect outdoor space for relaxing and entertaining. Debbies’ home reflects her time in the tropics, with a relaxed vibe; lacing together antiques, white plantation shutters, modern pieces and foliage. Tribal textiles and baskets from Papua New Guinea are amongst her favourite pieces.
Sharing the table and her home is one of her greatest passions. Good food, great friends and lots of laughter fills her home.
BEV HARRISON
Bev has a deep love of the coast and nature, which is reflected in her personal style.
Fascinated by ancient civilisations and exotic locations, Bev has journeyed to India and Nepal; sailed down the Nile in Egypt; backpacked through Indonesia and been on safari in Africa; she equally loves visitng family in Europe, a tropical Bali holiday or just sitting by a canal in Venice, sipping Spritz – the world will always beckon! Bev is also a keen photographer and very much a happy snapper with her camera never too far away.
To travel is to be inspired, in every aspect of life – and this is particularly true when it comes to Bev’s house and garden. A simple colour palette and eclectic mix of elements, treasures from her travels fill her home. Ethiopian crosses, old school desks and tasseled towels. Egyptian chandeliers, for their opulence and luxury; Indonesian wedding headpieces and vintage Indian Lassi cups – which each tell a story. Jewellry collected on travels and displayed together with pottery, baskets and shields from Africa – it all sits happily together.
Coming from a long line of keen gardeners Bev is passionate about the outdoor space, art, design, architecture and beautiful things. It is no surprise her home is filled with greenery and her garden is lush and relaxing.
Valuing a connection with nature, every day starts with a long walk in the park, in summer that is followed by a long walk on the beach.
Most important of all is her love of family. Bev loves sharing her table and home with family and friends.
ANDREW ATKINSON
Surfs up and Andrew is drawn to the beach, instead of drafting. Andrew is an integral member of the Mondo team and has been on board since 2010 as the key draftsman, his skills on the keyboard are envied. With a background in landscape construction his skills are an asset, meaning that he knows the nuts and bolts of a project, not just the paper end.
As a young man the west beckoned and he came seeking the sun and looking for adventure. He got more than he bargained for! Part of this journey was making lots of friends and meeting Bev and Deb. With his great sense of humour he soon fitted into Mondo’s ways.
Motivated by family he relocated to Victoria and the Mornington Peninsula, a beautiful place for a family to grow. Most recently Andrew has undertaken one of his biggest projects, successfully completing a lot of the hard work on his new home.
Andrew’s new home and property reflect his spirit, living consciously , sharing his love of nature and respect for the earth. When not working he can be found, with his two young boys down in the veggie patch; growing lots of delicious vegetables, organic fruit and berries. The rugged coastline draws them all, and when time permits the board and waves are calling.
