As with any complete makeover this unique home presented its fair share of challenges from a design and construction point of view, due to no access and many levels involved.
The owners requested a design that would evoke the atmosphere of resort living. Covering an area of 2000sqm, the spirit of the tropics is well represented. From its tropical plantings to its alluring central pool and water features, the sense of vacationing is plainly obvious, a visual feast. Several Balinese statues have been incorporated as well as a shingled roof pavilion at one end of the pool.
Feature plantings were chosen for their dramatic foliage colours and textural shapes, as well as their low maintenance requirements. The interior atrium was given a similar look to the exterior gardens bringing the outside in with its square feature decks look as though they are floating amongst the plantings.
