About This Project

This was an exciting project/new build where we collaborated closely with the Home Designer who was the owner, on many aspects of his home. The brief was the house had to be surrounded by green and be able to enjoy the vista to the natural bush beyond.

Lush tropical planting was used throughout the space. Selecting Bamboo for a dense green screen and other plants such as Strelitizia reginae, Alpinia nutans and Frangipani for their foliage contrast and texture changes.

A Barrier Reef fibre glass pool was selected and installed. Honed concrete was poured within the pool area and formed over the edge of the pool. A playful twist was added with circles of artificial lawn. They also became a dual lounging zone with the plain wall of the home being used for an outdoor cinema.

The boundary wall included raised garden beds, vertical blade permeable screens and channels for up lighting to add far more interest to the pool zone.

Every aspect, co-ordinating textures, materials, introducing easy transition between indoors and out was considered. Balancing design, functionality, viability and growth together with a long-term vision of how the space will mature.
It’s the subtle details – colour palette and strong clean lines that compliment this contemporary home and will stand the test of time.
