Throughout the design and building of this home we collaborated closely with the owner/builder and the Architect on many aspects of the home. The client wanted a multi-dimensional outdoor living space. One that incorporated an outdoor sunken gas fire pit, the main alfresco and pool.
A range of high-quality materials and finishes were incorporated into the design throughout the space to achieve this unique urban resort style landscape.
The design was based around the pool that features an infinity edge needed to be as big as possible and be WOW! Many hours were spent with the client selecting the herringbone tiles for the pool. With the use of white herringbone tiles on the pool’s infinity edge while a contrasting black herringbone tile was used inside the spa with a plain black tile used on the outside of the spa the pool became the centre piece.
A gas firepit was designed looking out to the pool. Being a small area, it needed to connect with the pool, home and alfresco area. The natural colour timber seating was selected to repeat elements used in the ceiling of the alfresco, front door and kitchen cabinetry
Plants have been selected for their form, texture and size when maturity is reached. Offering a lush green backdrop to the greys and charcoal palette of this project. The client was delighted to source some of the plants from his Mother and Grandmother.
As the Photographer said, “those doors, that firepit that pool”
